When my torn meniscus flared up after I started running again, I resigned myself to surgery. I started working with Dr... Houng to see if there was a way to avoid surgery but wasn't optimistic. I was really surprised to learn just how unevenly I carried myself, putting unnecessary strain on my knee. With just a few sessions and several relatively easy exercises, I have become much more aware of my posture and better distributing the weight and force of walking. After about six weeks, I started running again and now can make adjustments when I feel myself overstressing my knee. I've been running for two months now and no pain! I love the message that getting older does not mean that you have to just accept growing aches and pains!!!!read more
